Evil vs. Evil? NO

Psalm 37:7-9  Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.  Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;  do not fret—it leads only to evil.  For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

Today I had to visit the court house.  So many people there for so many things.  It’s was heart breaking seeing it.  Seeing that we as people can’t get along and we can’t handle our own problems and issues, we must take it to a judge to handle.  It was sad watching and hearing the evil things that we do to each other.  What was even more heart breaking is that each of these people were either family or at one time thought they loved each other.
Some of the people you could hear were working things out on their own.  Getting along for the sake of just getting it done and over with.  Others you could hear them plotting on how evil was going to be paid for evil.  Seriously, people, is that really what we want to do?  Fight evil with evil?
We need to learn to not follow what our enemy does.  Even when it looks like they are getting exactly what they want and what you want.  We must not get upset when they win because we need to keep in mind that one day they will fall and they will perish.  If we aren’t careful we could fall right down with them.
We have to do as it is said above and refrain from anger and turn from wrath.  If we don’t we will become evil like them.  You hear fight fire with fire?  NO.  Let God do the fighting for you and even if it feels like you are losing today, remember that HE has already won.  Our future has already been revealed.  So stay humble and do not fall into their scheming ways because of jealousy or bitterness over their successes.  Also remember:

Proverbs 21:23 Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.

Keep an eye on yourself every day so that you will not fall into that trap of evil and lose your prize that will come in the end.

Lord, Thank you for loving us.  Thank you for sending your son to show us exactly how we are to behave around evil.  Thank you for showing us how to be humble and loving even when the world is not.  Help us to remember that in the end YOU win and with that WE win.  Give us peace and love in our hearts to fight your fight.  And give those that are being tortured and killed in your name today the peace and blessings knowing that they will be greatly rewarded by you for all that they have done for you.  You will be the ultimate conquerour and they will see the ultimate prize for their bravery and lives.  AMEN

Stand up and fight

Esther 4:12-14  When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai,  he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape.  For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

In these verses Mordechi is basically telling Esther not to think she can hide from what is about to happen because no matter where she sits it will fall on her as well.  And she needs to realize that God put her in a this position for a reason and that reason was to save her people.  This happens in every generation, every day.  So many times today we see Christians changed by power.  Whether they let the power grow their human greed and selfishness or they fear losing their position should they rock the boat, they keep their mouths shut.  From a leader in a small church group to a Senator it doesn’t matter where it is if something is wrong and against God and His people SPEAK UP.  Stand up for His children and His Law.  Don’t just sit back saying “Ho hum I’m just me I have no say.” NO fight for those poor souls who need you, to find Christ.  You in the Senate or other Higher ups fight for what our country was founded on.  All of us need to find someway that we possibly can, even if it is just prayer,  fight for our forever family who are losing their lives to the ISIS, just because they love God and aren’t afraid to say it.  We all need to realize from the small leaders on up that we, like Esther, were put here for such a time as this.  To put on His armor and fight for Him.

Proverbs 21:21-22

Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.  22 One who is wise can go up against the city of the mighty and pull down the stronghold in which they trust.

I know what you are thinking it’s the same thing I am.  Really how can just one person stand up and fight.  Well, look at Esther just little female Jew against a bigger evil and she saved her people.  David, a little shepard boy against a giant saved an army.  Here in Proverbs it says if we pursue righteousness and love we will find it all.  If we continue in His word and become wise from it we can stand up to anything.
Don’t question God.  Don’t put God in a box.  If He put us in a place to do something through us we shouldn’t try to stop Him.  He is the God of impossibilities and He will use you for anything He feels necessary.  Nothing is to Big or Small for our God.

Lord, Please give us discernment on what you want us to do.  Help us to know when to sit still and when to jump up and conquer the Giant.  Help us to realize which fights you want us to battle and which fights you want us to walk away from.  Give us the strength to say no when we need to say no and yes when we need to say yes.  May we stand ready in your word and your armor each and everyday.  AMEN.

LOVE YOUR ENEMY

Psalms 35:12-14 12 They REWARDED me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.  13But as for me, when they were SICK, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
14I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.

We all have our enemies.  When we are kids in school they are called bullies.  As adults we have other choice words for them.  We all have them.  They pick and they pick.  They make us feel like lowly dirt.  Some do it out right while others act like they are your friends.  They bring you down and put you in a slump.

We beg and we beg as David did for God to ruin them.  Smite them into a burning pile of ash.  Something to show that He hears us and he loves us and not them.  Something to show that He truly cares about how we are treated.  And we find ourselves angry and hurt because He doesn’t seem to answer our calls for help and we wonder why.

Well He has a very good reason why.  They are His children too.  He loves them as well and He sees that many of them are just crying out for help because someone is doing the same to them.  We must remember that we are called to be like Christ.  We need to look at what Christ did when facing his own enemies.  He turned the other cheek.  He prayed for them.  He loved on them.  We must learn to be humble and pray for our enemies and their salvation or for their hurts to be healed.  How else do we expect to be doing God’s work?

So instead of whining or complaining about what this person is doing to you or how they are hurting you. as hard as it will be fall to your knees and beg and pray for that person and whatever hurts they may be going through to be healed.

Lord help us to remember that everyone has a story.  Everyone has a hurt and how we deal with that hurt may be the wrong way.  Help us to love each other even those who are hurting us.  Help others to see your love in us as we walk every day praying for our enemies and those that are hurting us and each others.   and Lord I want to ask a special prayer today for those hurting from the ISIS.  Please be with all of your children that are being persecuted and killed because we love you.  Help them to remain strong and remember that you will be the ultimate winner in all of this.  In your glorious name I pray AMEN
