Bipolar world

The Psalms seem to be what we would call bipolar.  One minute he is crying out for God to save him the next he is talking about how great God is and how much He loves us.  Life is this way. One minute all is great the next we are falling apart. We wonder if its because there really is not a God or if it’s because He isn’t as loving as we are told.  But that’s not it. It’s because first of all we have free will. We are not God’s puppets or robots. Also like any parent does, God has to sit back at times and allow us to fail and can’t save us from the big bad world.  Giving us a chance to hopefully learn from those mistakes.

Most of all, though, we are not from this world.  We are fighting a battle that will only be won when the Lord comes back to us.  It will only be won when we leave it and are forever in His glory. We must always remember this and keep out eyes and heart on the home we are headed to.  Keep remembering that we must not act like this world but live as we would and will when we are in His presence for eternity.

Hear my prayer, Lord,
listen to my cry for help;
do not be deaf to my weeping.
I dwell with you as a foreigner,
a stranger, as all my ancestors were.”
Psalm 39:12

Lord, thank you so much for loving us so much as to allow us to be ourselves and not your robots.  Thank you for allowing us to fall when we need to and soar when we figure it out. May we keep our eyes and our hearts on the prize of being with your for eternity.  Amen
