Do you love Him?

In John 21:15 thru 17 the Lord asked Peter three times if he loves Him. Of course Peter, who denied Him three times, is anxious to let the Lord know he truly does love Him and would do anything for Him. So Jesus gives Him three things to do (and redeem himself). He told him to: Feed His lambs, Shepherd His sheep, and Feed His sheep.

This command isn’t just for Peter, though. This is for all of us who love the Lord. If we really do love Him we need to Feed His children. The little babies and children who can’t take care of themselves need us to take care if them and to teach them of the Father’s love.

We need to shepherd His sheep. We need to reach out and spread His word and gather His sheep to Him. Let them know it’s never to late for them and that He loves all of them.

We need to feed those sheep. Give them the word and help to guide them and care for them.

Do you love the Lord? Are you willing to sacrifice and follow Him? Pick up your cross and walk with Him? Are you ready to feed and shepherd his children?

Lord, open our hearts and our minds to help feed and shepherd your sheep. Give us strength to love even those unlovable. Help us and lead us all to do your will and love the way you love. We are your vessels, Lord, and we love you. Amen

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.
